I have been publishing a St. Louis Daily Photo Blog since March 2007. Since it began, there has been a photo of St. Louis' Gateway Arch almost every Thursday, more that 70 by now. Sometimes I get discouraged, perhaps even burned out, with the subject. What else is there to say about it? However, my friend PJ of Pensacola Daily Photo suggested I start a blog just for Arch pictures. A brilliant idea, and here it is. Please tell me what you think.
There will not be daily posts but over the months to come you will see many images of my city's great monument. Visit again from time to time.
Well hot dog! I can have a little "Arch" every day now. Congratulations of this the maiden voyage of "Gateway"! And this spectacular image is the perfect beginning. Well done my friend, V
Congratulations on the new blog. I will enjoy following this one as well. I love this photo. When I spent two years in St. Louis working for Mercantile Bank, they put us up in The Mansion House and my apartment faced the arch. I've got some great photos that I took right out my window at all different times of the year.
Visiting after Virginia and JM's suggestion. Fireworks for the start of this new blog!! so clear... It's an interesting idea and nothing is better than loving something to show the best of it. I am sure you will have a great time doing it and us ,too,at the same time!!
GATEWAY is a record of my photographs of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri, the city where I live. I am obsessed with our great monument. It is a paean to American Westward expansion. The Arch was completed in 1966 and stands 630 feet / 192 meters high. It is exactly as wide as it is tall.
To me, the Arch is the most beautiful monumental sculpture in the world. I look at it every day as I drive to work and from my office window. It has moods. It is different at every hour, in every season and in every kind of weather. I never tire of it. For the last few years I have photographed it over and over, trying to avoid postcard cliches. Each time I carry my camera to its feet I look for something new.
Most of these pictures have been published in my other blog, St. Louis Daily Photo, documenting local life since March 2007. Come have a look.

Bob, these are sensational photographs. What a great idea to create a blog specially for the St. Louis Arch.
I think you should be able to make a lot of money off of that shot! WOW! Spectacular! Really!
