From On High

It's rare that I get around to riding the claustrophobic tram to the observation deck at the apex of the Arch. Well, sometimes. The monument's shadow becomes part of the geography, a giant sundial that you can't appreciate from the ground.

OH I"m feeling woozy and the mention of claustrophobic even more so. Why Bob I thought you probably rode that thing up every weekend! Great shot even though it's hard to look down.

Great shot. You've even got the building that I lived in for two years while working a temporary job for Mecantile Bank. Good old Mansion House.

I vaguely remember the tram but vividly remember being at the top. Wonderful shot.

Thanks for all the comments! Actually, this picture was taken in the summer of 2007. It had probably been 10 years or more before then that I'd been up and I haven't been back since. Most of my pix were mediocre. Guess I need to do it again. The Arch's shadow at this time of year would be really long.

Awesome! Love that perspective. Would be cool to get a timelapse of that. Which wouldn't really be possible up there. I wonder if you could get it from the ground somehow, or a nearby parking garage or something. Maybe just a few shots hours apart. Just thinkin here...
